Evergreen Regional Library provides computers for public use with access to the Internet and access to W-Fi from personal devices. These services are free to the public. Access to technology and online resources helps to meet the library’s priorities of being a centre for information access and a place for lifelong learning.

Library Computers
• Users are entitled up to 1 hour of time daily and time may be extended at the discretion of Library staff
• All machines have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Patrons can use personal headphones
• Information can be saved to a flash drive
• Information cannot be saved to the workstation’s hard drive or to an external hard drive requiring its own power source
• Files, email, bookmarks, etc. created on the computer will be deleted automatically at the computer’s restart
• Library staff will not police internet usage by minors – parents are responsible for monitoring their children’s internet activity
• Printing is available for a fee

User Responsibilities
• Users should be aware that the computer stations are in public areas shared by people of all ages and sensitivities
• Users are responsible for any fees they may incur as a result of using fee-based services, online shopping or printing
• Users will not interfere with the operation of the computer equipment or network by installing software, shareware or freeware
• Users will not view, send or display offensive materials that are defamatory, discriminatory, pornographic or obscene
• Users are responsible for any damage they may cause to library computers

User Compliance
• Anyone who misuses library computers or internet access may have computer privileges restricted or suspended
• Users who attempt to use library workstations for unlawful purposes will have their privileges revoked
